Welcome to Ledger® — Getting Started Guide

Your journey into secure crypto asset management begins here.

What Is Ledger®?

Ledger® is a trusted provider of hardware wallets designed to secure your digital assets, including cryptocurrencies and NFTs. With state-of-the-art security technology, Ledger® helps you protect your private keys and maintain full control over your crypto holdings.

Why Use a Ledger® Hardware Wallet?

Unlike software wallets that store private keys on your computer or phone, a Ledger® hardware wallet stores your private keys offline in a secure element. This makes it virtually immune to online hacking attempts and malware threats. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crypto user, Ledger® gives you peace of mind knowing your assets are safe.

What's in the Box?

When you receive your Ledger® device, you’ll find the following items inside the box:

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect

Before getting started, inspect your Ledger® device to ensure it hasn’t been tampered with. It should arrive in a sealed box with the device inside a static-resistant bag. If you notice anything suspicious, stop and contact customer support immediately.

Step 2: Power On and Initialize

Connect your device to your computer using the included USB cable. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the setup process. You’ll be asked to choose a PIN code — this code protects your device from unauthorized access.

Step 3: Write Down Your Recovery Phrase

The device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is the only way to recover your crypto assets if your Ledger® is lost, stolen, or damaged. Write it down carefully on the recovery sheet provided and store it in a safe, offline location. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.

Step 4: Install Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the official application used to manage your Ledger® hardware wallet. It allows you to check your balances, send and receive crypto, install apps, and manage multiple accounts. Open Ledger Live and follow the prompts to complete the pairing with your hardware device.

Step 5: Add Crypto Accounts

Once your device is set up and Ledger Live is running, you can start adding accounts for different cryptocurrencies. Each supported coin requires a corresponding app to be installed on the device. Ledger Live will guide you through this process, and you can manage all your assets from a single interface.

Step 6: Receive and Send Crypto

To receive crypto, select your account, click “Receive,” and verify the address on your device. To send, click “Send,” enter the recipient's address, amount, and confirm the transaction on your device. All transactions must be approved on the physical hardware wallet, ensuring maximum security.
